This do-it-yourself body scrub is absolutely perfect for when you begin your prepping and primping for Valentine’s Day Dinner! Not only will the natural ingredients leave your skin silky smooth but they will also leave your skin oh so kissable!
The ingredients are simple: coffee grinds, brown sugar, vanilla, and cocoa powder. Not only has it been scientifically proven that putting caffeine (from the coffee grinds and cocoa) on your skin lowers the risk of cancer, it also reduces cellulite. Who would not want that! The cocoa does wonders as well. The cocoa bean’s fibrous coating is a perfect for breaking down free radicals and it is also full of magnesium, which helps to stimulate the body to produce progesterone. This is a vital hormone is ideal for tackling hormone or stress-related breakouts. Not to mention that just the smell can make the brain release endorphins into your system. Olive oil is a common folk remedy for very dry skin and it also may protect your skin against sun damage and cancer.
If I have not completely sold you on the health benefits of this scrub alone, just trust me that once you use it, you will want to use it every day. Give it a try this Valentine’s Day and tell you skin and your date, “I like you latte”!
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of brown sugar
- 5 Tablespoons of coffee grounds, I used espresso because they are finely ground and will not irritate my skin
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- around 1/4 Cup of light olive oil, the light version does not smell as strong as regular
Instructions
1. Pour the brown sugar in a medium bowl.
2. Add the coffee grounds and cocoa powder.
3. Slowly add the olive oil to the mixture and whisk together. Only add enough oil to coat the ingredients. I used less that the 1/4 Cup.
4. Store in a tight mason jar or other container and use at will! Enjoy your “I Like You Latte” body scrub!
